Terranova is located near the best hiking area in the Valencian Community, the Barranc del Infern Sendero PR V-147, considered the temple for hiking. Between Fleix and Benimaurell, there is a 14,301m loop trail. It has 5946 stone steps of Mauresque origin, 3343 up and 2603 down, with a cumulative altitude of 1,690 metres. You can also visit Sanatorio de Fontilles, a centennial building featuring its location, surrounded by forests, parks, gardens and sources.

La Vall de Laguar

La Vall de Laguar, which in Arabic means "place of many sources", is a town consisting of three villages - Campell (Poble de Baix) Fleix (Poble d'Enmig) and Benimaurell (Poble de Dalt) plus Sanatorio San Antonio de Borja de Fontilles, all very close together.

This town is located within the Marina Alta region, north of Alicante province, and is located about 500 metres above the sea level. It has a typical Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and hot summers, but tempered by the influence of the Mediterranean Sea, just 15 or 20 km away from this valley. You can see not only the sea from many places, but even the island of Ibiza in clear days - a completely rural landscape, nothing to do with the nearby coast.

They are tiny and agricultural villages that essentially grow almond, carob, fig, olive, orange trees, and especially cherries - all in different seasons, so visitors will be able to admire their beauty sometime during the year. In its mountains there abound plants, especially aromatic herbs and low shrubs, such as rosemary, thyme, heather and lavender. Also abundant are pines, holm oaks and poplars. It has extensive fauna of birds and mammals such as partridges, pigeons, crows, hawks and eagles, plus rabbits, genets, foxes and wild boars.

The typical local cuisine consists of Sunday stew, baked rice, rice and beans and thistles, and the typical pepper and tomato "cocas", or with vegetables, in addition to typical and traditional sausages, sweet potato cakes, donuts and of course, the delicious cherries in season.

The festivities and celebrations occur throughout the year - a combination of music, parades, fireworks, bous al carrer and popular contests:

• In Campell, feasts in honor of Santa Ana in July.

• In Fleix, feasts in honor of San Pascual in May, and the celebrations in honor of Saint Teresa in September.

• In Benimaurell, feasts in honor of San Cosme and Damià in August. And Fontilles, the feast in honor of San Ignacio de Loyola on July 31.

Sant Antoni is also held in January, the pilgrimage to the shrine of San Jose in March, and a medieval fair in early May, of great interest to tourists.

You can visit the Tower La Casota, a military-style construction combining the roles of guard and defense from a strategic point. Documented vestiges date from the late eleventh century and the middle of the thirteenth century, in the Almohad period, a time of Fortification of Andalusia before the advance of the Christian kingdoms.

Also noteworthy is the Ermita de San José, between Campell and Fleix, which keeps the image of the saint, and the public fountains built in stone gable and side arcades.

Fleix

Fleix (ash tree in English, is also called the central village in the Vall de Laguar. Its population does not exceed the 140 inhabitants and is the administrative centre in the valley.
Like the other two villages, its people live peacefully among crops of cherries, almonds and olives.

There you can visit the Church of Santa Teresa and San Pascual, a simple building consisting of a single rectangular nave with a pitched roof and side chapels.
